The Cornice- The Salt Flats or Salinas Grandes
Touring The Cornice, Purmamarca, The Salt Flats or Salinas Grandes.
We will leave from your hotel and head for the famous Route No. 9 (1hr), until we arrive to the route La Cornisa where we will begin our journey on bike. We will descend through our local jungle known as the ‘yungas’, making a stop at the border of the Jujuy province at the Dique La Cienaga (dam) for lunch. After the rest, we will commence the second part of the journey towards the Quebrada de Humahuaca and Purmamarca, with a trek in the ‘Cerros de Siete Colores’ (Hills of Seven Colours), before returning to the village of Purmamarca (noche donde?) for a night of rest.
The trip will begin in 4x4 driving up the Cuesta de Lipan to the highest point of 4170m (m.a.s.l.). There we will prepare the bikes and start the decline towards the Salinas Grandes where we will take lots of fun photos before returning to Salta for the end of the tour.
